The chaotic nature of foster youth’s lives compromises a young person’s ability to concentrate and excel in school. We are actively working to improve both secondary and post-secondary educational outcomes for Maryland’s foster youth.

We are collaborating with experts from across the country to conduct in-depth research on the best practices for improving foster youths’ educational success and we are also advocating for improved data collection that can better reveal the educational strengths and needs of this population. The culmination of this work will be a comprehensive report detailing the recommendations and next steps for improving foster youths’ educational outcomes.
