The Campaign

Maryland is one of the wealthiest states in the nation. Nevertheless, our children are only in the middle of the pack or worse in areas such as education, health and safety. What does that mean? Far too many children are being left behind. We can open doors of opportunity for our young people, and make Maryland stronger – or we can slam the doors shut.

Here’s the good news: we know how to make things better. What’s needed? The will. And there’s no time to waste.

Just imagine the difference between a child’s beautiful smile and a mouthful of rotting teeth; a child thrilled to be learning, ambitious for the future, and a child dropping out of school; a child safe and loved by his family at home, and a child shuttling between one group home and another.

At every moment of a child’s life, it matters what we do. It matters what our policymakers do. And you can make a difference: join an army for children, join the Maryland Can Do Better for Children campaign, and keep the pressure on so that our leaders will do the right thing.

Bottom line: Maryland’s children need help, and they need YOU.

The Maryland Can Do Better for Children campaign promotes concrete solutions that can transform Maryland into a national model in child welfare, education, health, juvenile justice, economic security and racial equity.

Join the campaign, and fight for them!
